One of the more difficult National Parks Katy and I stopped at during our May 2011 road trip was Death Valley. It was completely worth it but I understand why they are struggling for funding and how it earned its name. An endless maze of narrow roads, extremely varying temperatures and pressures gave this area an interesting aspect that can not be seen in photographs. I found these rock formations in the Badlands to be quite stunning. Death Valley is such a massive area we only managed to see a few of the features but I am glad this was one of them.
